As the moon shines through your window,
I can barely see your face.
I watch you as you stir in your sleep,
And find it hard to say goodbye.
The wind blows gently outside
And I can see my shadow on your bed.
It sends shivers down my spine,
Just to think: I was there with you
Not too long ago.
Your skin soft against mine,
Your eyes looking into mine.
I think back and remiss
About nights soft and cool as this.
The wind gently blowing,
The moon so brightly glowing.
The wind brings me back
And I’m still standing here.
The moon has shifted
And watching you has this burden lifted.
I stay a bit longer
And start to wonder
How it would’ve been
If we hadn’t ended.
If it wasn’t over.
As the moon shines through your window,
I can clearly see your face.
A face that I’ll miss.
i was looking out my window one night and the curtains happened to be open. the moon was REALLY bright and kinda in my face. i was thinking about someone standing out my window and just watching me sleep... one of those fantasy love things... and i decided to write this one.
